It's been SO SO long since I've logged on to this poor neglected blog. It's much easier for me to post on my Facebook business page (see the link above) or to Instagram the latest bit of studio news.
My Instagram is: Christine Adolph Design. I'd love if you requested to follow.
Here's a few tidbits from around here...
I've been creating lot's of studio messes and painting big again.
Seashore flora and fauna is always my main inspiration. I've been painting with a variety of techniques and media and experimenting with different substrates. I'm always revisiting old artwork, creating new and also mixing a bit of it together...basically a lot of juxtaposing.
I've had some new products come out in the last six months. Here's one that I LOVE...journals..(other products introduced by a variety of manufacturers were wall art, trunks, quilt fabric, paper, greeting cards, kitchen textiles, gift bags, etc)
I'm super excited about this book project I did with Harvest House publishers that just released on Feb. 1!
Since I can't show the new art I'm working on I'll share this recent sunset I just enjoyed with my two girls.
I've been learning a few new art techniques lately. My friend Pam Garrison taught me how to book bind and got me started back into my art journals.
Last weekend I took Stephanie Lee's Plaster piecework class at Studio Cresendoh...I learned SO much in this class and can't wait to get some of the supplies and experiment deeper. I did these 12 pieces in class.
Every year I say that this will be the year that I put a good website together and be better about updating my blog. I'm hoping it's true....so stay tuned and thanks SO much for coming by.
lot's of dancing, guitar playing and just being home together....and bright colors, using lot's of bright colors in my paintings these days.
As I release the joys of summer to begin school next week and the juggle of two jobs, I am praying for God to "open the eyes of my heart" to see the opportunities that He has for me in the new school year....Hope that you are enjoying these last bits of summer too....xo
I'll be teaching a few workshops locally in a couple of weeks, and I'm so excited about them. Below are the photo's of the projects. If anyone is in the San Diego area and would like to join in, please contact Stamping Details to get signed up.

If you are not local but would like a workshop please contact me and let me know the names of some of the stores in your area as I'd love to schedule some more workshops in the remainder of 2012 and into 2013.
Or if you might be interested in an on-line class please let me know that too as I'm researching how to create some.
Chances are, if you're visiting this blog you are an artist or crafter and you will appreciate the great treasure I found. For years I've used vintage ephemera in my collage work and have had a few pieces of old french ledger sheets given to me by my dear friend Linda Blinn, many years ago. I've cherished and used them sparingly. That has all changed now because I came across the motherload of vintage ledger books right near my home in a very random way and I seriously found a TREASURE....to the non-artist, they look like junk....but to me it's better than gold....
and I'm happily creating and using them freely.
I was so excited about my find and needed to make something quick so I got my stencils and spaypaint out and created some floral pages....instant gratification! I also pulled some stamps out from my archive of stamps I've designed for Stampington and Company...SO FUN!!
And speaking of stamps...I'm teaching two mixed media classes at Stamping Details on August 18. Below are the book samples and more details to follow in a few days. We will be using my "Beautiful You" paper and fabric as well as my "Oceanside" papers in the class....
This is a piece from a new collection called "Home Sweet Home"....I've moved my studio back HOME and this collection was one of the new ones birthed in my new HOME studio space. A few years ago I fulfilled my long time desire (obsession) to have a studio space away from the house, I'd always wanted to do it. It was a bit of an experiment and it was a wonderful season, during this season I launched a few fabric and paper collections and I signed on with my agents too. Lot's of good things came from this time. The space was an ultra cool space in a funky arty part of town (photo's on upper left side of my blog). Needless to say, it didnt work with the crazy "mom" life that I have. I needed to be back HOME working where I could multi-task. We decided to re-model and re-work our home and were able to design a studio on our property away from the house, yet only a few feet from the house so we achieved the best of both worlds and a perfect situation for the "work at home mom". I'm enjoying the nesting and the being close to the family it provides and am so grateful that I found the right formula for my work space, finally!
In other news, I'm excited to have a new paper collections and want to share it. It's called "Beautiful You" and it's a sweetly colored girly collection. I'm currently putting together an altered book class to teach at a local store using this product and I'll share that on the blog soon.
Hoping to be better at blogging....I have spent more time posting to my business FB page so if you're interested in studio news, please make sure to "like" the page to see what's current. xo-
Been painting a lot of flowers (sunflowers, poppies, daisies, spider mums) this week as I prepare new art for Surtex....loving my Luma concentrated watercolors. I was introduced to these when I designed bathing suit prints years ago...Below is a shot of my table...
We had Spring Break last week so I had to resort to painting at the beach....Are you feeling sorry for me yet?
The lovely people at Sakura gave me this travel watercolor set when I visited them at CHA. And speaking of CHA, I heard my new Oceanside Collection was one of the top sellers for Creative Imaginations at the show. I am so happy with how it turned out. Met with my art director today to go over the new releases for the summer and I am very excited about the new designs coming out soon.
Thanks for taking the time to read the studio blog I am truly grateful for the support of my licensee's, fellow artists and consumers of the products that my art is on. I have neglected this blog and it amazes me when I pull up my stats that people have been visiting even though I have not updated often, so thanks from the bottom of my heart for checking in to my little art licensing studio..
