It has been a long time since I've blogged and one of the reasons is because I'm back to teaching again, but this time I'm teaching high school art. It has been a fun adventure and a bit of a transition as I go out of the house to work full-time. My licensing business is still thriving and I am finishing up my Spring 2010 collections as well as submitting proposals for my Fall 2010 lines. It's a busy season, but I'm grateful for it all. My children go to the school I teach at and that is one of the best blessings to see them so much throughout my day.
The photo above is a project that my classes started this week. We have been working on design principles and art elements and our unit this week is on "focal point" and "texture". The students hand cut stencils and experimented with spray-paint. I gave each a manila envelope to keep their stencil in and to sample out their stencil on the front. They turned out pretty nice, don't you think? Next week they will develop more finished pieces.
Will try to update the blog more often.
I love what your students have done! What fun! :D
