This week I'm going to end with a week in review via a gratitude list. Here is what I'm gratefull for this week:
*Monday, a busy day that was mostly spent at IKEA returning and purchasing bits and parts for our kitchen renovation (which is almost done!). A cousin that is a contractor and is making this remodel process much more comfortable than it would otherwise be. My mom saving me and shuttling the kids to dance and swim and making a pot of tortilla soup for us for dinner. Grateful!
*Tuesday,Valentine's day proved to be yet another busy one and it began with a lovely gift from the husband. He found a beautiful old piece of weathered wood on the beach and transfered one of my collages on to it. This process added an additional unique texture to the art that I LOVE. The day ended with a delivery of "Sprinkles" cupcakes from a dear friend. YUM. Grateful!
*Wednesday was a rainy cold day (love those days in the studio) and lot's was accomplished with the kitchen reno. My work day was filled with a fun project from my agent to design paper partyware. The day ended with spotting a "double rainbow!!" and catching the most amazing sunset.Grateful!
*Thursday working on wall art for a potential licensee presentation, again a fun project.Thankful for the flexibility I have in my design job to be able to teach art at my kids school and attend to various meetings and activities they are involved in. Grateful for a resourceful husband who cooked a meal for me so I could work in the evening, a very loving gesture. My sweet cousin Dustin's heart surgery was re-scheduled once again and although this doesnt seem so positve, the bright side was to see the strength of my family and the ability to rally together in times like these. Grateful!
*Friday a day off from school. Need I say more! Grateful!
Based on this list, my life looks pretty darn good (and I guess it is, if I choose to focus on the positive)...Often I'll read blogs and think, "is their life really that perfect?" and of course I know its not, life has a lot of messy moments mixed in, no one is spared of the negative. We live in an imperfect and fallen world, that's a given. It's how we choose to handle it. God's word gives some pretty clear wisdom about this, and that's another thing to be GRATEFUL for!!
Proverbs 17:22
English Standard Version (ESV)
22 A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Have a joyful and artful weekend and choose gratitude!

Amen. Thank you for reminding me to focus on the positive.

Hi Christine,
oh my goodness, girl - I am experiencing goosebumps as I read, and view your lovely, lovely art work.
My thought on (perceived) perfection - puushah - I'd much rather live in reality and with those who will venture there with me.
YES! Let's set a date to spend the day together...I'll email you, ok.
